UAB Vilkritis is implementing a project co-financed by the EU “Development of Innovative Composites of Plastic and Other Additives Characterised by Exceptional Physical and Chemical Properties”.

UAB Vilkritis was established in 1999. The company specialises in the distribution and sale of products used in the manufacturing process of plastic products, consultancy on the opportunities of their use, and development and production of new cutting-edge materials. The company has been working in the field of plastic compositions for 20 years and has been manufacturing compositions for about 10 years. UAB Vilkritis, seeking continuous and long-term development, revenue and profit growth, associates its future goals with the development of innovative products and their real prototypes, using the latest technologies and processes that would have positive effects on the company’s competitiveness in the long term.  

UAB Vilkritis project is being implemented in accordance with the measure “Intellect. Joint science-business projects” of Priority 1 “Stimulation of research, experimental development and innovation” of the European Union funds investment action programme for 2014–2020, project number J05-LVPA-K-04-0045.

The goal of the project being implemented by Vilkritis UAB is to create environmentally friendly compositions of highly biodegradable polyolefins (polyethylene and polypropylene) with unique mechanical and technological properties for packaging, household, construction and automotive industry and other applications. Local organic friendly raw materials and innovative additives to the materials will be used for this purpose. The created products will be tested under realistic conditions of their future use.

An investment amount of EUR 1 179 348.62 has been allocated for the implementation of the project from European Union structural funds.

The implementation of the project will last for 24 months.
